“I have attended the RSG CIO Circle sessions and found the topics discussed to be of great relevance to myself and my organization. But the real benefit, is being able to have an open discussion with other like minded CIO’s or digital professionals regarding current topics and issues that we are all facing – in particular sharing thoughts, experiences and approaches. Its great to make some of this stuff real’

CIO of AHPRA and Victorian CIO of the Year 2014 (iAwards) – Graeme Dunn

“The RSG CIO Circle provides a great opportunity to share knowledge, insights and meet leaders within the technology industry, in a relaxed environment. I have enjoyed being a part of the group”

General Manager, William Buck (2014 iAwards National and Victorian ICT Woman of the Year) – Fi Slaven

CYBER SECURITY

On 27th August 2015, Resource Solutions Group hosted a CIO Circle roundtable breakfast on Cyber Security.

The constant evolution of the online and digital environment presents cyber threats which are constantly evolving with increasing volume, intensity and complexity.

With the growing threat of Cyber Crime, Cyber Security has moved from an operational to a strategic issue. Before companies were focused on securing the walls around their networks, the goal now is to protect valuable data wherever it resides. With the focus on digital and the Internet of Things (IoT), many companies are seeing the importance of IT security and are coming to the understanding that security is a business problem, not just a technology problem.

Together with our panel of expert speakers, we navigated the changing landscape of IT security and how companies can strengthen their security posture.

Our speaking panel comprised 4 highly regarded Business and Technology Executives:-

  • Simon Raik-Allen – CTO at MYOB
  • Samantha MacLeod – GM Cyber Security at ME Bank
  • Craig Searle – Managing Director at Hivint
  • Melissa Wilkey – Manager, Group Security at ANZ

DIGITAL INNOVATION

Resource Solutions Group hosted our second RSG CIO Circle event on 12th February 2015 on Digital Innovation.

Together with our panel of expert speakers, we explored how companies can be innovative in the digital age and become a digital enterprise.  Increasingly, we’re seeing more businesses of all sizes value the importance of innovation. We’re operating in an age of digital disruption, a time when innovators can leverage fast-changing technology and user preferences to overturn traditional business models.

Our speaking panel comprised of 5 highly regarded Business and Technology Executives:-

  • Ajay Bhattia – CIO of Carsales.com
  • Michael Ilczynski – MD of Product and Strategy at SEEK
  • William Confalonieri – CDO of Deakin University
  • Fiona Allen – CDO/CMO Simplot

THE FUTURE STATE CIO

Resource Solutions Group hosted the first of our CIO Circle series events in September 2014 in Melbourne. An experienced panel of speakers shared their views and answered questions on the role of the “Future State CIO”.

The role of the CIO is increasingly becoming that of a strategic business partner, not just head of all things technology. CIOs no longer sit outside the business and are working hard to align themselves with business outcomes and priorities.

With a growing dependence on all things technology-related, businesses need CIOs who can drive innovation, competitive advantage, decision-making business intelligence and go-to-market strategies. Ultimately, CIOs must be business strategists, leaders of change and champions for evolution within our organisations.

Katrina Park, Managing Director of Resource Solutions Group, asked our panel of 6 highly regarded IT Executives a series of questions about the evolution of the CIO role and the responses were very thought provoking.

Panel speakers:-

  • Ajay Bhatia – CIO of Carsales.com
  • Fi Slaven – General Manager of William Buck
  • Kelly Ferguson – CIO of Mi9
  • Simon Raik-Allen – CTO of MYOB
  • Anthony Stevens – CIO KPMG
  • Ken Matthews – Founder/Managing Director of CIO Advisory
